What it means to actually follow Jesus?
What it means to actually follow Jesus?
It means you have placed your deepest, life level faith in him and you are getting to know him by reading and knowing HIS teachings (NOT ‘the bible’) and being willing to do what HE says.  And the core and starting place of following him is to forsake, or let go of, or turn away from what the people of this world say is valuable, and instead value Jesus and his Father above all things.  Joshua put it this way, “If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own.  However, I have chosen you out of the world, and as a result, people will hate you.”  John 15:18  It means you will share your life with other disciples and have THEM as your Family.

What are the key beliefs the followers of Joshua hold, and more importantly, how do we live our lives differently than the biblians or christians?  Why Joshua instead of Jesus?

Some important questions for biblians and christrians…

For a simple illustration of the main point of this web site please see The Christian Versus A Follower of Joshua Illustration.

1. Receiving eternal life is very difficult – “Difficult is the way that leads to life and only a few find it”

2. Doing what Jesus/Joshua says is difficult – “Unless you forsake all the material things you consider valuable, you cannot be my disciple”;

Giving up yourself and placing your deepest, life-level faith inJesus/Joshua is difficult.

So, do you REALLY want to follow Jesus/Joshua? Playing the Christian game is MUCH easier.

Speaking meaningful truth to people who don’t want to hear it will not make you popular, and CARING ENOUGH TO not be silent with important truth when people really want you to “shut up”, will make people hate you – again, it is difficult to follow The Light.

Yet, there is no more meaningful and noble life than to do the most difficult thing 🙂
